Why a Eucharistic Christmas?

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, chooses to take on human nature, and be made man. We celebrate His birth into the flesh, formed in the womb of the Blessed Mother, on Christmas Day. He is born in Bethlehem which means “House of Bread”. He is laid in a manger which is where the food for the animals is laid. The King of Kings has humbled Himself out of Love. He is Love itself.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, chooses to remain with us in the Eucharist and be made food. We adore Him in Adoration and receive Holy Communion after properly preparing. He was born in the House of Bread, and remains the Bread of Life for us to eat. He becomes the Sacrifice of the Altar, bridging the gap between God and man so that we, unworthy as we are, may enter into Eternal Life through Him.

To celebrate Christmas is to adore the Eucharist. The Mass of Christ, the Sacrifice of the Unblemished Lamb, born in the lowliest of places, so that He may be our food to bring us to salvation. Praise God! Remember that Christmas is a 40 Day season, that begins on December 25th.

Venite Adoremus!

Oh, Come let us adore Him! This traditional Catholic Hymn is perfect to listen to while coloring. We listen to both the Latin and the English versions of Adeste Fideles. You can read more about the importance of filling your children’s minds with beautiful music here. We used Latin for our coloring page because it is the official language of the Church, and we like to help the children become familiar with it!
